CARISA, the Cancer Research Initiative of South Africa. We are a National Collaborative Research Programme supported by the South African Medical Research Council and the Cancer Association of South Africa. Our mission is to improve the health status of South Africans by promoting a comprehensive national and sustainable cancer research strategy and programme that will build capacity and knowledge in the areas of primary and secondary prevention, treatment, palliation and monitoring.

AORTIC Conference to be held in
Durban 2013

The 9th biannual African Organisation for Research & Training in Cancer (AORTIC) conference will be hosted at the International Convention Centre Durban in 2013. The key objectives of AORTIC are to support research and training in the field of cancer care and oncology, in addition to promoting and supporting the creation of cancer control and prevention programmes, and enhancing public knowledge of cancer in Africa.
